COVID-19 Policies: Glacier National Park, Montana
We are all living in an unprecedented time in our lives and there seems to be a lot of uncertainties pertaining to Covid -19 pandemic around not only Glacier but the east side of Glacier National Park which resides next to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation so we will be subjected to State, Federal and Tribal regulations. We hope this helps to answer some questions about our upcoming season.
Summit Mountain is very private and so our guests can stay in private cabins and adhere to social distancing policies as put forth by the state. We are being optimistic that Glacier National Park will be opening in Phase 3, approximately June 15th according to Glacier National Park officials. We do plan on opening our restaurant on June 17th to dine in and take out customers as we have ample space to adhere to the social distancing guidelines.
We will also have extra precautions in place as well to protect our guests and staff but again remain confident that our space allows for adequate social distancing due to the unique layout of our property. Our utmost priority is to make sure our guests stay safe on their travel and our employees are not put in harm’s way. Please keep in mind it’s extremely important that all out of state visitors follow the mandatory 14-day quarantine until June 1.
Our guests are still able to book cabins on our website: www.summitmtnlodge.com from June on with precautions in place. The cabins will be “self-check in ” until Glacier National Park officials recommend opening and we have transitioned into phase 3 of the Covid-19 pandemic which we hope will be mid-June.
The east side of Glacier National Park is bordered by the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and so we also are watching closely to see what the Tribal officials will do and we will closely monitor changes according to National Park Officials: https://nbcmontana.com/news/coronavirus/glacier-national-park-plans-for-eventual-reopening

What People Say About Us
We are Proud to Call Ourselves an Eco-Friendly Resort.
Summit Mountain Lodge was originally a train station in 1906.
Originally in Glacier National Park, the building was remodeled as a Swiss chalet in 1928 and moved down Highway 2 outside of the Park in the 1980s to where it sits today. Ted and Mara Chase purchased the property in 2013.
Ted is a professional wildlife photographer and third-generation Montanan. Mara is originally from Guatemala. They both love to fly-fish and raft the nearby rivers.
